Actually all these certification required some good experience. Microsoft recommends at least 2-3 years. But if you have good 1-2 year experience you can clear the exam very easily. You have to clear MCTS that has two exams as mentioned in the post.

i dont understand why are you going in all fields. VLSI, Java, Dot net all are different field, for each certification you will get different kind of job.

Also, I just want to know the best approach to complete the exams successfully. I mean is it preferable to write each exam in different schedules (1 exam in a month) or to write all of them at a time (as we write in our academics). I'm planning to complete all the 5 exams (70-305, 70-306, 70-310, 70-300, 70-229) by March 31st, 2009. So how should I plan.

MCITP-> in this a lot of Certification exists.but for a developer point of view only certification is

i could not answer earlier. i do not have knowledge of institutes in Chandigarh. You can check NIIT/Aptech or some individual who give coaching at home, they can teach better. i can recomment you books. just install the Vs2008/2010 on your computer.

@rupa. check the content of certification, if you have worked on such content earlier, you can appear for it. if not wait for 1 more year at least. as Microsoft recommend at least 2 years exp in .net technology for the .net certification. i have written various articles on it. you can go through this.

One thing.. these are 2.0 certification.
These exams are retiring in june 2011.
So as .net's current version is 4.0. Check here http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-vstudio.aspx#tab2 , comment if you still not clear.

There is no such order, you can do in any series.
......
Secondly as your current experience is 1 year. As Microsoft says , you should have at-least 2-3 years of experience before attempting these exams. As i know 1 year is very less to understand all nitty gritty of .net mention in the details of the exam. if you have worked on 70% of the technologies mention in the exam then attempt. Or just download the book and read. if you find comfy go for web exam. if not then wait, get some more exp at least 1 year.

Hi Ramya, As i have mentioned in Red that 2.0 exams are retiring this June. They will not conduct 2.0 exams after that. so go for 4.0 or 3.5.

2)Most Big companies will hesitate to select you resume, as 60% is cut-off, though some accept 55% also, So go to some small company usually they do not check the percentage etc. after getting good experience 2-3 years target big company. Certification helps after you get experience. It is of no use without experience. Min 1.5-2 year exp is must.

There is no order or serial of exam. you can give any of exam on same level in any series.

@vishaka: Microsoft recommends 2 years of experience for taking any of the MC exam. get 1 years of experience at least, because exams questions requires industry experience.

I am planning to take my first MS certification. I am a .net web developer with 4+ years of experience.
I want to take MCPD. For that there are 3 MCTS pre-requisites and 1 MCPD pro. My doubt::
1)I have to take above mentioned 4 exams for directly becoming MCPD or I have to first be a MCTS by clearing following 2 exams?
MCTS = 70-536+70-328
2) Are 2 out of 3 MCTS pre requisites are enough or I have to take all 3.
